This About me page is the story of Nannie CanDo, a slightly eccentric baby boomer grandmother, sharing her knowledge of Kids Crafts in a funny and uniquely entertaining way, through her latest project the Can Do Kids Crafts website.

Hence the heading above as I am constantly embarrassing my Grandchildren as I did my own kids.

Life's too short to play serious grownups all the time.

Whether it be acting the goat at my granddaughter's birthday pool party or scavenging through wads of seaweed looking for Davey Jones's treasures to take home for the grandkids to use in their craft collections---it's all great fun

About Me is about that kid who got to spend a lot of time with my imaginery friends making mud pies, eating raw worms(yuck!), building pine nettle houses and decorating lots of teddies with pins, badges and ribbons.

A favorite past time of mine was making cards for my mummy out of anything I could find...a recycler even way back then.

So when my children came along I was in heaven.

As soon as they were out of nappies and could hold a pencil, crayon, anything that made a mark I was there with them, up to my armpits in playdough, paint, mud or whatever!

I even ran a mother's group, a very advanced idea for those days.

I remember the squeels of delight and that was from the moms as well as the kids.

As the years passed I retained the urge to create, have some kiddie fun and so was born my little Australiana souvenier business...Podarama

For years I climbed trees and scoured the countryside looking for seed pods and bits and pieces, creating a very unique Australiana range of products.

I sold these at markets and festivals for the delight and pleasure of locals and tourists alike.

In the section on Natures Crafts in Can Do Kids Crafts I will be passing onto you some of my trade secrets. Unique crafts using what nature has provided as the best source of free kids crafts- ECO friendly crafts.

Creating the website Can Do Kids Crafts is my way of sharing lots of other tips and techniques that I have picked up along the way. I have a great advantage as I have wonderful and highly creative grandchildren who will be adding their ideas and providing some wonderful creations to show off.

I am hopeful that Can Do Kids Crafts is going to provide something a little different.

Nannie CanDo has lots of ideas swimming around in that brain of hers, one such idea is to come up with some hilarious videosthat will entertain you and your children...I'll keep you informed when they hit the site!

About Me is about...These days you can find me sitting in my computer playground, my cyber-sandpit.

Here, with my friendly computer, now upgraded from the dinosaur I used to use to a modern flat screen thing-a-me-bob(I am so computer dyslexic).

We spend hours together working on Can Do Kids crafts as well as my other passion Family Getaways Melbourne

I am having a ball!

So how does someone who has an idea (a passion as it were) even think of setting up a website to share this knowledge?

There are two things that I am passionate about and they are my family and traveling.

Unable to do the real nomad stuff yet, another dream of mine, I am still able to have the time to combine my two passions in a very unique and practical way.

Have a look at where I started This is almost 2 years ago...

I was introduced to a unique site building process by a friend and immediately saw that I could really give it a go.

The ongoing support was there and the tools that I needed were all available.

But I thought..."I can't write!"

Not to be defeated, I decided to investigated further.

SBI have several free e-Books and I downloaded these, devoured the words and came to the conclusion that...I can do this.

I needed to be looking at working from home as my focus and responsibilities had changed dramatically.

About me is about...The more involved I have become with the free learning material, the free support and the free tutorials etc the more determined I have become to produce lots of really valuable information sites....


Over a period of time I have met wonderful people online from all over the world, one such person is Sue from Website building Tips

Plenty of times I have visited Sue's site to glean a few extra tips on building my website.

One visit I found that Sue was running a competition and the prize was a free SBI website!

Wow, a free SBI website!

Now that was a great incentive to gather up what I had learned over the past 18 months and have a shot at winning...Guess what?

I did!

And so was born Can Do Kids Crafts.

All the free tutorials and expert help paid off showing that the quality of the goods that SBI provides is top quality!

So if you have an interest or a passion, want something very different to do, have some unique fun or even want to go back to study this may really interest you too.





The experience of writing this About me page and the birth of my kids crafts website has only re-enforced the fact that my choices up till now are right on track.
