Easy Halloween craft ideas for making different pumpkin projects with the kids.

Decorating your room, house or garden with spooky, scary stuff doesn't have to be hard.

Just a little imagination and a few bits and pieces, that's all you need. Things such as...

  • Pumpkins
  • Lights
  • Candles
  • Witches
  • Black Cats
  • Brooms
  • Spiders and cobwebs


No Carve Pumpkin

Materials you will need

  • Small pumpkins
  • Black construction paper
  • Black masking tape or duct tape
  • Faux fur-black
  • scissors
  • Drawing pins


Instructions


  • Cut out eyes, nose and mouth for the pumpkin head using the construction paper.
  • Pin these onto the pumpkins, you may like to cover the pin heads with the black tape
  • With a piece of the construction paper make a cone shape and tape it securely
  • Glue faux fur around the bottom edge, you may like to decorate the hat with stickers or cut out stars or just leave it as is.
  • Pin the witches hat to the pumpkin using the drawing pins.

Candle Pumpkin Head

Candle Pumpkin Head

Materials you will need

  • Small pumpkin
  • Sharp knife
  • Scoop/spoon
  • Candle
  • Black marker


Instructions

The 1st step requires a grown up to do as handling the Knife can be dangerous for little people.

Make sure you explain to them that you only want them to cut the top of the pumpkin in the centre so that you can hollow out the insides.

Cut deep enough to allow the candle to sit in the pumpkin, just like the picture

  • Using the marker draw eyes, nose and a mouth onto the pumpkin
  • Scoop out all the inner bits and pieces making room for the candle.
  • Place the candle into the hollowed section

Halloween Pumpkin Garland

Halloween Pumpkin Garland

Materials you will need

  • Black construction paper
  • Orange construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Circle template or use a paper plate
  • Hole punch
  • Ribbon, twine, raffia or string
  • Glue
  • Ring eyelets, used to reinforce the cut out holes


Instructions

  • Cut out the circles using the black paper
  • Punch holes either side and reinforce with the ring eyelets
  • Carefully cut out 2 eyes, nose and mouth using the orange cardboard
  • Glue these onto the black cirlce to form a face
  • Thread the twine(or whatever you are using to tie the circles together) through a hole in 2 circles and tie with a bow or a knot- if you want a streamer effect use long strands of twine
  • Join as many circles together as you want to produce the length that you needWhy not reverse the colors and make the face orange and the eyes, nose and mouth black.That way you could alternate the black and orange for a different effect again.
  • At the ends of the garland form a loop so that you can hang it where you want it to go
